Perkins Elementary School Building Plan for Excellence
Perkins Elementary School Comprehensive Education Plan (BPFE)
Perkins School’s 2025–2026 Building Plan for Excellence (BPFE) outlines a comprehensive, data-driven roadmap to support academic achievement, social-emotional development, and meaningful family engagement for students in UPK–Grade 2. Developed collaboratively by a team of educators, specialists, and community partners, the plan focuses on high-impact instructional strategies and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS).
Key priorities include:
- Fostering a culture of data-informed instruction and differentiated learning for all students, including identified subgroups.
- Expanding access to restorative practices and social-emotional learning aligned with Newark PRIDE values.
- Building sustainable systems through MTSS integration, with targeted interventions and early warning indicators.
- Strengthening school-family-community partnerships through improved communication, increased events, and public displays of student work.
The plan features clear benchmarks and outcome goals across academic and non-academic indicators, including i-Ready performance, chronic absenteeism, and student voice surveys. It reflects a shared commitment to equity, excellence, and continuous improvement at Perkins School.
