At Newark Central School District, we believe technology is an essential tool for enhancing teaching, learning, and student success. Our 2026–2029 Instructional Technology Plan provides a roadmap for continuing to strengthen technology across the district while ensuring that students and staff have access to the tools, resources, and support they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world.
Vision & Purpose
The 2026–2029 plan focuses on using technology intentionally and effectively to support instruction, improve learning opportunities, and prepare students for their future. The plan emphasizes equitable access, responsible technology use, professional learning, reliable infrastructure, cybersecurity, and the continued integration of emerging technologies into teaching and learning.
Key Goals
1. Enhance Teaching & Learning
Support educators in using technology to create engaging, meaningful, and accessible learning experiences that strengthen student achievement and promote collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.
2. Prepare Students for the Future
Develop students' digital literacy, technology skills, and responsible digital citizenship while providing opportunities to explore emerging technologies and develop skills that will support success in college, careers, and the global community.
3. Provide Equitable Access & Support
Ensure students and staff have reliable access to devices, digital resources, software, and technology support while addressing the diverse needs of all learners.
4. Strengthen Infrastructure & Security
Maintain and improve the district's technology infrastructure while prioritizing cybersecurity, data privacy, reliability, and systems that can adapt to the changing needs of the district.

- Support for All Learners: Utilize technology to improve accessibility and provide students with the tools and resources necessary to participate fully in learning.
- Data Privacy & Cybersecurity: Continue to strengthen systems, practices, and awareness surrounding data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity.
- Technology Infrastructure: Maintain reliable networks, devices, systems, and other technology resources necessary to support district operations and instruction.

The 2026–2029 Instructional Technology Plan reflects Newark CSD's commitment to ensuring that technology is used as a tool to expand opportunities for every student. Through continued investment, professional learning, collaboration, and thoughtful planning, the district will work to create learning environments where technology supports engagement, creativity, communication, accessibility, and real-world skill development.
The goal is not simply to provide more technology, but to ensure that the technology we use has a meaningful impact on teaching and learning and helps prepare every Newark student for success today and in the future.
