About Superintendent Hasenauer

Susan Hasenauer serves as Superintendent of Schools for the Newark Central School District, bringing nearly three decades of educational experience as a teacher, administrator, and district leader. Throughout her career, she has focused on improving student achievement through strategic planning, collaborative leadership, and a commitment to educational excellence.

Prior to joining Newark, Ms. Hasenauer served students and families in both the Rochester City School District and Brockport Central School District. Her work has included curriculum development, instructional leadership, school improvement initiatives, and district-wide strategic planning.

Ms. Hasenauer holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Geneseo and master's degrees in Reading K–12 and Educational Administration from SUNY Brockport. She also completed the New York State Superintendent Development Program and has conducted more than 20 school reviews across New York State.

Known for her collaborative and student-centered leadership style, Ms. Hasenauer is committed to building strong partnerships with students, families, staff, and the community while ensuring every learner has the opportunity to succeed.
