“I love it. It’s a breath of fresh air being here. I enjoy coming to work every day. It’s a perfect fit for me. It really is,” raved Schultz, whose mother Stacy Warren retired from the job she held for 30 years as Secretary to the Superintendent of the Newark Central School District before retiring last year in mid-November.

Schultz, who began working part-time at Kelley May 29th and full time June 25th at the grades 3-5 school is working with the administrative team of Principal Christina Sullivan and Assistant Principal John DeFazio.

“They’ve been great and have such a team mentality,’’ Schultz said.

“Emily has been a wonderful addition to the Kelley team!” Sullivan said. “From the moment she joined us, she has demonstrated a collaborative spirit, working seamlessly with colleagues and always putting students first. She is efficient, proactive, and consistently takes initiative to support the needs of our school.”

Schultz is also delighted to be working and learning some of the ins and outs of the job from with Kelley Senior Clerk typist Sarah Griepsma whom she’s known for years.

It was Griepsma who urged her friend to apply for the position thinking she’d love working at the school with children close to Schultz’s daughter Devon’s age.

Before coming to work at Kelley, Schultz worked as a private home health care aide for seven years and prior to that, held various positions at Newark Wegmans where she began working when she was in high school.

After high school, she took courses at Monroe County Community College.

Outside of work, Schultz enjoys attending and watching children’s sporting events and activities Devon and her cousin Miles are involved in.

In addition, she loves working on home repair projects, doing yard work and gardening.

“And I really love to read in my spare time” she said with chuckle, because her life is very full _ and busy.
