The event featured dancing with DJ Johnny Hill, a photo station set up with a spring balloon arch, a flowerpot decorating craft, and a spring scavenger hunt. Students were also encouraged to sign a teacher “thank you” card to be presented to Perkins staff for Teacher Appreciation week in May! As a special Earth Day touch, students were given packets of wildflower seeds on their way out to plant in their decorated pots and gardens at home.
For dinner, pizza was generously sponsored by BB’s Pizzeria and Sugar & Slice of Newark. In addition, families were given delicious cookies and treats created by second grader Nolan Brown's Grandma and PTA member Arleen Miller.
“It was a wonderful event that truly brought our students and community together on a beautiful evening,” said Perkins PTA President and teacher Assistant Michelle Weimer. “We are hoping to make the Spring Dance an annual event. Special thanks to all of our volunteers including Principal Pete Czerkas, Assistant Principal Stephanie Martin, PTA Members Johnny Hill, Bella Hernandez, Samantha Sergeant, Arleen Miller, Heather Brown, Matt Weimer and Crystal Brooks.
