“When Elle Woods’ seemingly perfect pink life takes an unexpected

turn, she follows her ex-boyfriend Warner to Harvard in hopes of winning him back. Once there, she is confronted with the ruthless Professor Callahan and an ensemble of unfriendly Harvard Law students that includes Warner’s ambitious new girlfriend, Vivienne. Elle’s “Greek Chorus” of Delta Nu sisters arrive to help navigate and cheer her along. Ultimately, Elle discovers her strengths with the help of Emmett, a hardworking teaching assistant and Paulette, a lovable hairdresser with plenty of wisdom. Packed with upbeat songs, hilarious moments, and heartwarming themes of self-discovery and perseverance, this show is sure to entertain audiences,” said Director, Choreographer Emily Howard, an English 11 teacher at Newark High School, adding that the show contains some mature language and parental discretion is encouraged.

‘This is an ambitious undertaking and I’m excited that the students rose to the challenge. The show grants many opportunities for individuals to be featured. Fans of the 2001 movie will recognize characters and famous lines. However, even if you haven’t seen the film, you’ll want to root for Elle as she discovers her own strengths and realizes she never needed anyone’s approval to succeed. It has been a joy watching our cast bring this story to life with energy, humor, and heart.”
