The performance began with all the second graders singing βHere Comes the Snowβ and ended with them singing βGo in Peace.β
All the musical numbers were directed by Lara Larsson, Lincoln and Newark Middle School General Music teacher. Kevin Pease, Lincoln School Physical Education teacher, choreographed the dance numbers.
The students wore snowflake tee-shirts for the performance that were designed by Larsson and the Second Grade teachers.
In the program Larsson wrote:
βThis yearβs presentation is inspired by the unique nature of snowflakes. Fragile, beautiful, small. The young musicians that you see on stage tonight are very special indeed. Just like a snowflake, this special moment will quickly melt away. The music and joy that they share with you tonight will only happen once. I hope you take a moment to take it all in and really treasure the precious musicians you see before you . . .β
