Dear Newark CSD Families,
Please be advised that the track, turf and football field are closed until further notice due to a potential issue with the light poles. During a recent inspection, we discovered a foundational issue around the base of specific poles near the back of the school. Out of an abundance of caution, especially with the inclement weather, we have decided to close these areas to ensure everyone's safety while repairs are expedited.
We are confident that there are no immediate issues with the poles, but we want to be cautious and proactive in addressing this matter.
