“I love it,’’ Spoon said of the new job she began working at November 12th. “Everyone here is very nice, helpful and patient.”
Spoon filled the vacancy created by the departure this fall of Dina Calapiz who left the job she’d held since August 2021 to become the new Secretary to Superintendent Susan Hasenauer.
Kelley Principal Christina Sullivan and John DeFazio, who began his new job at Kelley November 24th, are delighted to have Spoon onboard.
“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Brittney Spoon to the Kelley Team,” Sullivan said. “Her strengths in collaboration, social–emotional support and her consistently positive attitude make her a wonderful addition to our school community. We are thrilled to have her join us.”
Spoon’s previous employment history includes working, since March of 2022 until she moved with her family to Wolcott in September, at the Children’s Advocacy Center in Odessa, TX as a Multi-Disciplinary Team Coordinator. The Center provides care for children who are victims of physical or sexual abuse and or criminal neglect.
Before that she was secretary for 11 ½ years at the Ector County Sheriff’s Office where she had myriad responsibilities.
Spoon graduated from Career & Technical Education Center in Odessa and has taken college courses.
She and her husband, Brandon, an apartment complex maintenance worker in Phoenix, N.Y. have five sons _ Timothy, 19, Levi, 17, Johnathan, 16, Jason,14, and Noah, 13. All but Timothy moved to New York. Their four youngest are attending school in North Rose-Wolcott Central School District.
Spoon said she is finding the scenery and the weather in this area delightful.
“There’s no season except hot where we lived in Texas,’’ she quipped.
Besides caring for her family, Spoon said she enjoys “going to church, crocheting and making cheesecakes.”
