Congratulations to the Newark Class of 2025! 🦊

“My name is Kelly Zielke and I am honored to be the principal here at Newark High School. I would like to welcome everyone to the graduation ceremony for the Newark Central School District Class of 2025.

“This is a very special moment in the lives of our seniors encompassing years of hard work and dedication. Welcome to the graduating seniors, families and loved ones, and Newark staff who have joined us this evening. Thank you for coming and sharing in this celebration.

“As we gather at this important event, many of us will naturally be thinking of loved ones who are no longer with us to join in tonight’s celebration – friends, teachers, classmates, staff, or family members, who we remember today. We hold all of their memories dear to us, so please join me in a moment of silence to reflect on those people who brought so much to our lives who could not be with us here today.”

Zielke’s remarks were followed by the Salutatorian Address by Tessa Belliveau, musical selections by the Senior Choir and Band members, recognition of some of the Class of 2025 seniors who received awards and scholarships during the school year and of those will serve in the military. Fourteen Commencement awards were presented by Superintendent Susan Hasenauer; followed by the Valedictorian Address by Lucas Herd, the Commencement Address by English and Marketing and Publications teacher Katie Ganter; presentation of diplomas by the school counselors; remarks from Zielke and the certification of the Class of 2025, closing remarks by Hasenauer and finally the Class of 2025 tossing their caps into the air!
