The 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. event featured classic carnival games like ring toss, a duck pond, tattoos, estimation station, mini golf, parachute, bean bag toss, and chalk and bubble making. Chalk and bubbles were generously provided by some Kindergartner’s parents.

The Alex Eligh Community Center donated a dunking tank, a highlight of the carnival, and machines to make tasty treats like popcorn and cotton candy.

The festivities wrapped up with a picnic lunch that 45 families attended. Parents provided lunch for themselves and their children unless a child wanted a school lunch.

Kindergarten teacher Amanda Richwalder, who planned the event with Kindergarten teachers Rebecca Herko, Jasmine Bueso and Melissa Allison, said the Team especially wanted to thank “our amazing parent volunteers, dedicated staff including Head Custodian Bob Mosteiro and Physical Education teacher Kevin Pease and administrators; the Newark Fire Department for filling the dunking tank and AECC for its generous donations.”

“It was a fantastic day full of laughter, excitement, and community spirit,” Richwalder said.
