NHS and District Office Administrative Intern Ashley Stoughton and School Counselor Sue Gardner set it up to help students in need of a variety of school supplies and personal hygiene products.
“Having the right tools is essential for learning,” Gardner said. “When students have access to basic supplies, they can focus more on their education and less on what they are missing. This initiative aims to remove barriers and help every student feel more confident, prepared and ready to succeed in class.”
While the items in the cupboard are mostly grant-funded, Gardner said individual donations of travel size shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, and new school supplies are needed and can be dropped off at the main office in the high school.
