Everyone is invited to come and enjoy a relaxing afternoon and hear great instrumental and vocal musical selections that will be provided by Newark High School musicians that perform with FUSION, Vocal Jazz, Jazz Band, a Sax Quartet, small vocal groups as well as the Newark Middle School Jazz Band.
Musicians will be performing in the iconic bandstand and while several benches are available in front of it, attendees should consider bringing lawn chairs so they can listen while being comfortably seated.
A Country Luxe Ice Cream truck will be on hand throughout the event at which cones, sundaes and other delightful ice cream confections, similar to those sold at their locations in Sodus and Sodus Point, can be purchased.
“Our premiere Block Party in Central Park last year was a huge success, and everyone wanted us to bring it back again this year,’’ NHS instrumental music teacher Robert Humphrey said. “It provides a great opportunity to showcase our older musicians in an informal setting and give them another opportunity, near the end of the school year, to perform. It’ll be a wonderful afternoon.”
