Students in NHS Art Teacher Sam Rathbun’s year-long AP 2D college level art course have some of their year-end portfolio work available for viewing in hallway display cases.

“This year each student completed at least eight works of art where they grew from one project to the next- _ pushing their imagery, material use, and concept deeper as the year progressed.” Rathbun explained.
“Many students used symbolism to create poetic works that are at once deeply personal, but which can be universally appreciated,” she said. “They also did research into anatomy, art history, anthropology, and cinema in order to create works of art that exist within larger social frameworks. It has been wonderful seeing this talented group of students push themselves and their abilities and I am so proud of what they have accomplished!’’
