He has not yet decided which college he will attend in the fall but plans to “dual-major in computer and political science with a minor in finance for undergrad. I'll probably then enter a Master of Public Administration or other management program for postgrad, all for an eventual career either in business administration [of technology] or public representation.”

“Ethan is an amazing student, athlete, performer, community leader and most importantly, human,” Hasenauer said. “His voice is soft, but the strength of his words and service to others resonates with our entire school community. He was the perfect pick for this year’s winner as he encompasses the high level of integrity and character this award exemplifies. Whatever his future holds, there is no doubt he will be successful.”

“I am so pleased that Ethan was the Superintendent’s choice this year for this award,” said Zielke. “He is truly a wonderful representative for Newark, participating in a variety of activities and athletics, achieving high academic achievements, and serving as one of our student members of the High School Principal’s Council and the Board of Education. I am excited to see all the success that his future brings. Congratulations to him!

"I'm happy to receive this award,” Klock said. “It’s an opportunity to reflect on what I do to lead; to see what I've done well and where I can do better. I want to thank my parents and administrators, the leaders in my life, for building me into who I am today."
