NHS honor society chapter members helped with recent blood drive

The Newark High School Chapter of the National Honor Society worked with American Red Cross personnel at the February 12th Blood Drive at NHS at which 29 units of blood were collected from some students, staff and community members.

NHS ATS teacher Kaiden Davis, NHS National Honor Society Chapter advisor said afterward he was very pleased with the outcome because the Chapter’s goal was to have 25 units of blood donated.

“It went amazing,” he said.

For its efforts in helping to publicize the blood drive along with chapter’s members helping at the drive, the American Red Cross is going to provide it with a $500 scholarship.

With an upcoming successful April blood drive, Davis said the Honor Society chapter will have earn a total of $1,500 that will be given to a NHS senior at the end of the school year.
