Nine Newark High School students who are members of the Take A Look At Teaching (TALAT) Club participated in the 32nd Annual Careers in Education Conference on March 7th at St John Fisher University.

NHS School Counselor Sue Gardner and NHS French teacher Rachel Chistolini, who are TALAT Club advisors, accompanied the students.
‘The students attended various workshops, talked with professionals in the field, participated in a Q and A session about applying to college, attended a mini college fair and experienced eating lunch in a dining hall. They received a great deal of good information and learned about many options in the field of education,” Gardner said.
TALAT members have also visited SUNY Geneseo, SUNY Brockport and Nazareth University over the past two years.
“We plan to visit more schools next year,’’ Gardner said.
TALAT is always accepting new members. Interested students can stop by Chistolini's room (205) or the Counseling Office to learn more about the club.
