Reading Week 2025 was a huge success! Our week started off with Wildlife Rockstars! We loved seeing these unique animals right in our school. All week long we had guest readers in all of our classrooms! These readers were some of the school board members, retired teachers, high school students, and local community helpers just to name a few. Our school was decorated with so much beautiful art work and camping items to go along with our theme..."Camp out with a good Book"! The scholastic book fair was set up all week in the library with Mrs. Taylor for purchases. The Perkins PTA purchased and presented each student with a book to take home. Reading night brought many families into the school to enjoy activities put on by staff members and pizza donated by Dominos Pizza and so much more! 📚
Thank you to all that attended and everyone that made a week to remember!

Our monthly assembly to end reading week. Our mystery readers were revealed...Miss Blodgett, Mrs. Stephen, & Miss Mechler could not stump our smart students! We celebrated our students of the month for their hard work showing their PRIDE!

After a week of learning about recycling, students from Mrs. Faust's class put their imaginations to work. Reusing cardboard boxes, they made some very creative and artistic Boxitects.

Spring is in the air so we are taking advantage of being outdoors during recess! Along with some sidewalk chalk with Ms. Anderson.

Mrs. Faust's and Ms. Puckett's classes buddied up to clean up the park of any trash lying around. This went along with learning about recycling this week! ♻️

Pre K classes woke their hibernating bears for Spring with a teddy bear picnic 🐻

Perkins & Lincoln students and their families were taken into outer space as they entered Perkins Elementary for Family Game Night! Crafts, games, reading, snacks, and a room full of aliens were just a few of the fun things everyone enjoyed throughout the evening! Staff members from both buildings worked hard to transform the school for the event! Thank you to both staff and families for making a night from "out of this world" such a success. 🌎 ⭐️ 🌖 🌏 ☀️

Kindergarten classes went on a field trip to Eversons Maple Farm on Friday to learn about the family owned business that makes yummy maple syrup and other products! It was a great trip with some sweet treats to sample as well. 🍁

It was a full house in the gymnasium at Perkins School for the 2nd grade performance of "Out of the Box". Directed by Music teacher Ms. Mechler, the performance included songs sung by each 2nd grade class and a whole group end of show song! It was great seeing so many families there to support the students! 🎶

Pre K classes went on a field trip to Eversons Maple Farm and saw batches of maple syrup being made and got a taste of just how sweet and yummy it is! 🍁 Thank you to The Everson Family for having us!

Great fun during Read Across America Week with "hat day", "pj day", "mix match day"

Mrs. Fausts pre k class was happy to get out for some fresh air during these warmer days.

The Rev Theatre Company performed for our Kindergarten classes today. This was a big hit and lots of laughter filled the room.

February 14th was a busy day at Perkins!! It was our 100th Day, Valentine's Day and the last day before our Winter Break! We had an assembly to celebrate at which we presented The Wayne County Humane Society with 166 donated items! Our 100th student to enter the assembly was celebrated, 100 balloons were released and classrooms shared special treats with one another. Our principals, Mr. Czerkas and Mr. Mutch performed at the assembly as well. Fun was had by all.
