Using stencils made in the Steady Work Printshop in Newark the words were recently applied by Steady Work Intern Jayden Jackson, a 2025 Newark High School graduate and Nolan Benedict, also a 2025 NHS graduate who is a Junior Job Coach at Steady Work.

Steady Work Coordinators Josh Arnold and Nate Hawver assisted.

“At Perkins School, our students learn what it means to show their Perkins Pride. These core values of Safe, Respectful, Responsible, and being part of a Community guide everything we do. Inside our atrium stand four pillars, and we wanted those pillars to visually represent these four PRIDE values,’’ said Principal Pete Czerkas.

“This summer, Josh Arnold and Nate Hawver from Steady Work, and Julia Solan, Director of Family and Community Engagement for the Newark Central School District, helped bring this vision to life, Czerkas continued. “We shared our ideas, and they took it from there creating something truly meaningful. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and continued support of the Newark community. Their donation will highlight and celebrate our Pride Values for many years to come.”

Steady Work provides program participants with career readiness and life skills to prepare them for employment after they graduate from high school.
