Making Memories at The Terrace is lots of fun!

“What a wonderful way to bring the school and the community of Newark together. . . definitely an experience the kids and adults will remember,” said Schalberg. “This has been a great bonding experience for both our UPK students and residents at The Terrace. We have already begun preparation for planning a visit in June to picnic with the residents outside.

“Our students look forward to it just as much as the residents,” Colacino added. “Seeing the happiness and excitement brings all of us much joy. This was our first year visiting The Terrace continuously throughout the year and we look forward to continuing this tradition.”

Hannah Fose, Activities Director at The Terrace wholeheartedly agreed, saying residents so look forward to and appreciate the Perkins School UPK students coming to visit.

“It really makes them happy and fills their hearts with joy when the children are here,’’ she said. “Bringing these two groups together is so beneficial to the children and our residents.”

And what did students think about the latest visit to The Terrace?

“It was so fun we got to get Easter eggs,” said Persephany Hackett.

"I think it's cool there is a lot of grandmas and grandpas at The Terrace,” said Thomas DeVelder.
