Sullivan is replacing Nate Goodness in her new role as principal. The Board accepted his Oct. 6th resignation at their Oct. 15th meeting.

“Christina has proven herself to be an exceptional administrator as the Kelley School Assistant Principal over the last two years, therefore, there was not a hesitation in appointing her as Principal,” said Superintendent Susan Hasenauer. “Her history as a teacher in Newark and her background in Special Education allows her to see the big picture. I have no doubt she will continue to build upon the momentum of building a culture and climate of high expectations and student achievement.”

“I am honored to continue my professional journey at Kelley School, a place that has profoundly shaped both my career and my passion for education,” Sullivan said. “I began here as a Special Education teacher in 2015 and take great pride in being a ‘Kelley Red.’ Our staff’s dedication, collaboration, and unwavering commitment to students make Kelley School truly a special place. The compassion and spirit within this community continues to inspire me every day. As principal, I look forward to building upon our strong foundation and advancing our shared commitment to ensuring success for Every Student, Every Day.”

Prior to becoming AP at Kelley School in July 2023, Sullivan served as an Administrative Intern at Newark Middle School and as co-chair of the Newark Central School District Committee on Special Education during the 2022-23 school year.

Before that, she was the district’s CSE Chair from March of 2022. And prior to that, she worked for eight years at Kelley School as a Special Education teacher.

Sullivan worked as a long-term substitute for grades 1-5 in the Spencerport Central School District before she began working in Newark in 2014.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree in General Education from Medaille College; her Master’s Degree in Special Education and Literacy from SUNY Brockport; and her Certificate of Advanced Studies degree from the University of Rochester.

Sullivan lives in Fairport with wife, Jessica Esders, a Special Education teacher in the Spencerport Central School District, and their six-year-old daughter Maggie.
