With a career spanning more than 40 years, Coach Ceravolo inspired generations of student-athletes with his passion, integrity, and leadership. His dedication to the game and his players shaped countless lives. Fostering friendships, life lessons, and a legacy of excellence that will forever echo through our gyms and halls.
In February 2024, the Newark community came together to honor him with the naming of “Coach Ron Ceravolo Court,” a powerful and emotional tribute that captured just how deeply he was loved. Surrounded by former players, coaches, colleagues, family, and friends, Coach Ceravolo’s legacy was etched not just into the hardwood — but into the heart of Newark.
Coach Ceravolo’s achievements were extraordinary — 409 career wins, 15 league titles, 4 Section V Championships, 2 State Final Four appearances, and countless stories of perseverance and teamwork. But his greatest victories came through the lives he touched.
The Newark Central School District extends its deepest condolences to Coach Ceravolo’s family, friends, and all those who had the honor of learning from him. His spirit, mentorship, and love for this community will never be forgotten.
