The Newark Varsity Boys Soccer team earned a 2–1 victory over Penn Yan last night in their second matchup of the season! 🔥
💥 In the 10th minute, Nick Coons buried a long-range shot from 30 yards out to open the scoring.
⚽️ Just four minutes later, Ryan Irizarry one-touched a perfect Luke Taylor corner cross to make it 2–0 Reds!
Penn Yan got one back late in the first half with an own goal by a Newark player, but Newark’s defense held strong through a scoreless second half to secure the win! 🙌
The Reds are now 7–7–1 and close out their regular season Thursday vs. Pal-Mac! ❤️🤍
