After 19 years of incredible dedication to Newark Athletics, we congratulate and thank Coach Henry Kuperus as he begins a new chapter as the Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Canandaigua Academy.
During his time at Newark, Coach Kuperus served in many roles—coaching JV and Varsity Basketball, Varsity Lacrosse, and Golf. Under his leadership, our boys basketball team won two sectional titles and made a run to the Class B State Final Four in 2023. He was also named Finger Lakes East Coach of the Year that same season.
Coach Kuperus has left a lasting impact on countless student-athletes both on and off the court. Thank you for your passion, leadership, and commitment to our Reds family. We wish you all the best in your new role!
