     Shared Decision Making is based on the following beliefs:
    All children in the Newark Central School system can learn.
    The educational intersts of children are best served when all segments of the community work together.
    Educational directions established by people clsest to children have the greatest impact on learning.
    Decsions created by consensus are build on understanding and acceptance.
    At the Middle School, the Shared Decision Making Committee strives to raise student achievement by building a community of learners.  The Middle School community is committed to providing a safe, respectful and supportive school environment that promotes self-discipline, motivation, responsibility and excellence in learning.
