    INSIDE WALKING AVAILABLE

    Location: Newark High School

    Date and Time: Monday thru Friday, 5:00 pm – 8:30 pm.

    Fee: Free

    **Please note this is only available during the school year when school is in session, (not available during school holidays and recess).

     

    RUNNING CLUB

    ADULT MORNING SWIM

    Certified Lifeguard on duty   

    Location:    Newark High School Pool

    Dates:         Monday thru Friday

    Time:          5:30-7:00 am

    Fee:            $2.00/adult/session

    **This program is for adults only. Program resumes five days a week starting September 11.

     

    ADULT/FAMILY SWIM

    Certified Lifeguard and student lifeguard on duty

    Location: Newark High School Pool

    Dates, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

    Time: 7:30-8:45 pm

    Fee: $2.00 adults/session: $1.50/student per session. Sign in and pay per night.

    **Parents need to stay with their child/children.

    **This program will resume Monday, September 11.

     

    AQUA AERBOICS

    Program: Aqua Aerobics

    Location: Pal-Mac High School, 151 Hyde Parkway, Palmyra

    Time: 7:30-8:30 pm

    Days: Tuesday and Thursday

    Begins: September 12, runs the majority of the school year.

    Cost: Walk-in Rate: $6.00/$5.00 seniors, Discount Punch Cards Available, First class is free

    EXCEL 101

    In Excel 101 you will learn the basics of Microsoft Excel. You will be able to understand and create spreadsheets with formulas. From the data that you input you will be able to create amazing graphs and visuals.

    PSYCHIC DEVELOPMNT/MEDITATION

    Ever wanted to learn more about your psychic abilities and improve your own intuition? In this fun and interactive class you will learn to develop your own intuitive/psychic skills. A few topics, Psychometry (sensing information from objects) Methods of Intuitive Development, Aura/Chakras and more.

    This class will also incorporate simple guided meditation skills.

    Each week you we will explore a different guided meditation including: Guided visualization journeys, breathing techniques, color healing, chakra balancing, expanding awareness and more.

    HORSEBACK RIDING LESSIONS

    Come and enjoy year round horseback riding lessons in a newly constructed indoor riding arena. All levels are welcome from beginner to advanced. Group or private lessons are available in a private setting in Lyons, NY for adults and children at least 5 years of age. **Special events and birthday parties are also available.     DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSE 6 hour class

    Instructor: Deb Barry

    Location: Newark High School, Room 216

    Dates: September 28 and October 2, October 24 and 26 January 30 and February 1, March/April date to be determined. Please call 315-332-3265, or check our web site.

    5:30-8:30 pm both evenings. You will need to attend both days of the class.  

    Fee: $40.00/person Minimum participants required

    Get a 10% discount on your collision, auto liability and no-fault insurance for three whole years and a 4-point reduction on your license, if needed. A certified instructor will offer this informative, 6-hour course. It is offered in either two 3-hour evenings or one 6-hour all day session. You will learn traffic laws, roles and responsibilities of the individual driver and defensive driving techniques. This course is approved by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles and the NYS Department of Insurance.

     

    FIVE HOUR PRELICENSING CLASS

    REQUIRED BY NYS TO BE TAKEN BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR NYS ROAD TEST

    Suburban Driving is certified by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to offer the 5 hr. Pre-Licensing course,  

    The 5 Hr. Prelicensing class is required by New York State before someone with a learner's permit can sign-up for a NYS road test. The class talks about the Highway Traffic System in which everyone drives. 

    Some of the subjects discussed in this class are:  

    • the importance of being a defensive driver 
    • right of way - when do you have it / when do you not 
    • dangers of distracted driving
    • safe following distance 
    • the dangers of aggressive driving / road rage 
    • the effects of drinking, doing drugs and driving 
    • Graduated Licensing

    Michael DeMay is the instructor for all of the classes. Mike has been a driver education, physical education, health teacher and coach for over 20 years.  He prides himself on making his classes fun, informative and interactive.  He will teach you how to handle real-life driving situations without showing bloody movies or using scare tactics.

    DANCE CLASSES AVAILABLE:

     

    BALLET BASICS

    Have you wanted to learn ballet, but find it intimidating to walk into an adult dance class never having danced before? This is the class for you!! You will learn basic dance steps and terminology at the root of all types of dance, that will prepare the absolute beginner. Begin by learning the positions of the arms and fee and build into basic steps. Advance to turns, jumps and learn combinations on the open floor. Focus on proper technique and strength building while you have fun learning the job of classical ballet dance.

    Tuesdays: 7:00 pm

    SOCIAL DANCE BEGINNERS I

    Want to learn to dance? In this fun and easy class you will be introduced to the world of dancing with partners and will learn the basics of today's most popular dances: Salsa, Fox Trout, Waltz, Rumba and Swing. Class focuses on footsteps, techniques of execution, leading and following and transitions into variations. Emphasis will be made on musicality and timing recognition. Course will prepare you for the dance floors for any occasion. Comfortable shoe wear, no tennis shoes please.

    Saturday morning: 11 am

    Cost: $20.00/month
